The rates below apply to a confirmed private vehicle with driver in Salalah. They are not per person, and they are not a universal daily rate for every route in Oman.

The five-hour and eight-hour Camry bookings use the same approved price, so half-day hire is not a different product. Unused time is not carried over, and extra time after the confirmed period is quoted separately. Additional-hour prices for Salalah are not published here because they depend on the confirmed itinerary.

Which vehicle should you choose?

Approved vehicle types are a Toyota Camry or equivalent comfortable sedan, a minivan, and a Chevrolet Tahoe / 4WD or equivalent suitable 4WD. Exact model year, colour and trim are not guaranteed. A specific vehicle is confirmed only in writing at booking, and all vehicles remain subject to availability.

A Camry is the usual choice for airport pickup, city hotels and many paved sightseeing routes. A minivan is the practical option when a booking needs more passenger or luggage space. A Tahoe or other suitable 4WD may be recommended for selected rough tracks, remote viewpoints, special routes or changing road and weather conditions.

Salalah Airport pickup prices

Airport pickup is a point-to-point transfer from Salalah Airport to a confirmed hotel or address. The exact pickup, destination, passenger count and luggage must be confirmed when booking. Prices below are per private vehicle.

Other destinations are quoted after the address is confirmed. This airport table is not a substitute for a day-tour booking, and it is not a Muscat–Salalah intercity transfer. Guests travelling between Muscat and Salalah by road should use the private Muscat to Salalah transfer page.

What the service includes

A confirmed Salalah private-driver booking includes the private vehicle, the driver, fuel, drinking water, waiting within the agreed booking hours, an English-speaking driver, and a driver familiar with Salalah roads and visitor locations. Booking support is available 24/7.

For a confirmed airport pickup, flight monitoring and a meet-and-greet with a name sign are available. Waiting is included only within the confirmed service period. Additional time, major route changes and special access requirements must be confirmed separately.

The price does not include meals, attraction tickets, activity fees, personal expenses, or additional services that are not listed in the written confirmation. The driver is there to provide private transport and local road knowledge, not a separate guided tour package.

Khareef and seasonal route planning

Khareef generally affects Salalah during the summer season. Green landscapes, mist and waterfall appearance still vary with weather and Khareef conditions. Water flow is not guaranteed at every spring or waterfall. Road visibility and surface conditions may change, and routes may be adjusted for safety, weather, traffic or closures. Every stop cannot fit into every booking, and not every attraction is accessible on every day.

Outside the Khareef months, Salalah remains a practical base for beaches, souqs, coastal towns and mountain roads. Seasonal appearance is a planning factor, not a promise that a viewpoint will be green or that a waterfall will be running.

Is a 4WD required in Salalah?

Most hotel, airport and paved sightseeing routes can be covered in a suitable standard vehicle. A 4WD is not automatically required for every Salalah day tour.

Jebel Samhan can normally be reached using the paved road in a suitable standard vehicle. A 4WD may be recommended for selected rough tracks, remote viewpoints, special routes or changing road and weather conditions. This page does not encourage driving onto unsafe, closed or restricted tracks.

If the route includes unpaved access, a remote viewpoint or travel after heavy rain, mention that when you enquire so the vehicle can be confirmed.

Popular areas to visit with a driver

Visitor sites are spread between the coastal plain, the mountains and nearby towns. The list below is a set of commonly requested places, not a promise that every location will be included or looking its best on a given day.

• Wadi Darbat, where water, greenery and viewpoints change with the season.
• Mountain viewpoints on paved roads, with stops chosen according to weather and time.
• Ayn Athum and Ayn Garziz, two spring areas whose water appearance depends on recent conditions.

Taqah, Mirbat and Alila Hinu Bay are also reachable as confirmed airport or sightseeing destinations. Opening hours and road access can change, especially in poor weather.

Single-day hire versus the special five-day programme

A single-day booking is the standard private-driver service: a confirmed vehicle for up to five or eight agreed hours, used for airport pickup, a local tour, or a custom route that fits the confirmed time.

The five-day programme is separately priced because it follows a planned sightseeing itinerary with different daily distances and route requirements. It should not be calculated by multiplying the standard single-day Camry rate.

Approved special-programme prices are OMR 270 for a Camry covering the five-day special programme, OMR 300 for a minivan covering the five-day special programme, and OMR 80 per day for a Tahoe/4WD when that vehicle is required and confirmed. These figures are for the planned programme, not a discounted copy of the ordinary daily Camry rate.

Airport meet and greet

For a confirmed Salalah Airport pickup, up to 90 minutes of complimentary waiting is available. Flight monitoring helps coordinate the pickup, but cancellations, major itinerary changes and waiting beyond the included period must be confirmed separately.

A name-sign meet and greet is available for confirmed airport pickups. Send the flight number, passenger count and luggage so the driver can be positioned correctly. Waiting beyond the included period is not automatic, and a delayed flight does not convert an airport transfer into a day tour.
